Texas Biennial

Texas Biennial Anniversary Exhibition, Lawndale Art Center

Partner Organizations

The Texas Biennial is an ambitious program that is strengthened by and successful through the collaboration of all our partner organizations and artist collectives across the state. Since 2011, when the partner organization program was established, organizations have scheduled special artist talks and lectures, designated works by Texas artists on display in their permanent collections, installed temporary exhibitions of work by one or more local artists, and highlighted exhibitions featuring contemporary Texas artists.

In our sixth edition we are excited to partner with a diverse, vibrant, and compelling group of organizations who are sharing knowledge about their places, communities, and cultures. In 2017 our growing family of partner organizations are also celebrating the excellence of our state with compelling programming.

Programming by TX★17 participating organizations will be highlighted during the run of the Texas Biennial open call group survey exhibition.

Texas Biennial Participating Organizations are advocates and partners for our program. Partner Organizations can amplify our efforts with the Texas Biennial in one or all of the following ways:

  • Be an ambassador for TX★17 by promoting the Open Call, and the Exhibition to your community.
  • Collaborate together to recommend studio visits and assist in making connections with artists and cultural leaders.
  • Showcase a Texas artist in your space as an official auxiliary element of TX★17. In 2013, Participating Organizations programmed special artist talks and lectures, designated works by Texas artists on display in their permanent collections, installed temporary exhibitions of work by one or more local artists, and highlighted already-calendared exhibitions featuring contemporary Texas artists.

We want your organization on our list to partner with this edition or future editions of the Biennial. To get involved, register below:
